Honestly both rewards are pretty inconsequential. I'd rather an enchant that always does something in favor of a 1% chance of instantly killing a target that will often activate when its not even helpful.

PC 4 years ago. If you let him live, you get a unique voiced (though annoying) Essential follower. If you kill him, you get his clothing, which has stronger enchantments than the normal Jester's Clothes set. The set has no armor, but the light weight of the chestpiece and Fortify Barter might make it useful.
